Restaurants Near Symphony Hall & the ICC Birmingham
Concert at Symphony Hall, a conference at the ICC or a play at the Rep? We are across the canal bridge from all three, so dinner and the first act fit in the same evening without a sprint.
Restaurants near Symphony Hall and the ICC Birmingham
Symphony Hall and the ICC share one building on the far side of the canal from us. Cross the footbridge by the Brindleyplace square and you are inside in a few minutes. The Rep and the Library of Birmingham sit just beyond on Centenary Square, a little further on foot and still easily done before a 7.30pm start. That short walk is the point: dine properly, have a drink, and arrive without rushing.
The show menu, built for curtain times
Our Events and Show Menu is £35 a head: small plates and sharing dishes that come out quickly, so a table of four can eat well and still settle the bill before the bell. Think aromatic crispy duck rolls and bang bang prawns, then Sanpei chicken, rosemary black pepper lamb or chilli paneer passed round the table. If you are tighter for time, Quick Dining Before Show is two courses for £45. Put your start time on the booking and the kitchen paces the meal around it.
Before a concert, a play or a talk
For a concert at Symphony Hall or a play at the Rep, a 5.30pm or 6pm table gives you a relaxed meal and time for the walk. Vegetarian and vegan dishes are marked on both pre-show menus, so a mixed group can order without fuss. If the evening runs on afterwards, the cocktail bar is open until 11pm Sunday to Thursday and 2am on Fridays and Saturdays.
Delegates and conference groups at the ICC
In town for something at the ICC? Conference groups are welcome every weekday, and the weekday lunch menu (£22.50, Monday to Friday, 12pm to 4pm) is close enough for a working lunch between sessions. The signature set menus take ordering off the table for a team dinner, and for client entertaining the private rooms upstairs keep things away from the main room.
A cocktail bar before and after the show
Lulu Wild is a cocktail bar as much as a restaurant, so it works as the drink before the show as well as the meal. The classics are done properly, alongside house cocktails like Lucky Dragon and China Silk, and the Chinese cuisine coming out of the kitchen is built for sharing at the bar as much as at the table.
